"He's been under for too long; he's losing touch with reality." The doctor curses under his breath, smacking the disobedient monitors which refuse to tell him soothing lies. "He's been like this ever since the painkiller overdose."

"Doctor, do you think perhaps we should disconnect his brainstem from its internet connection?"

"No," the doctor replied gruffly. "The illusion that he's participating in an internet discussion forum may be the only thing keeping him alive now." But his brainwaves were deteriorating, and the doctor was troubled, briefly, that it might be better to end his suffering now.
