SAN FRANCISCO COCKSUCKA!

The news had been known for a while, since HBO didn't renew any of the contracts of any of the actors it was pretty much a given.

Deadwood had some of the best dialogue of any show I've seen. At least we get a season 3 to watch in another couple weeks.

heh - "crackity dammit"!

The dialogue is amazing and I just love the characters...Doc, Sol, Swearengen. Although, I must say, Timothy Oliphant always seems a bit out of his depth. There are other ways to convey intensity besides constantly talking through gritted teeth.

I hope this last season is good. I'm going to miss Cocksucker Sunday. With Sopranos and Deadwood signing off, I may have to cancel my HBO and sign up again when Rome returns in 2008.

Rome - 2008?!? I am totally cancelling after Sopranos. The only other thing I'd watch is "Inside the NFL" for sixteen weeks a year.

I really like Olyphant's portrayal of Bullock, and don't think it is as one dimensional as you think.

Wait, Deadwood is being replaced from John from Cincinnati??

Fuck. The religious right has finally won.

Cocksuckers.

I like Bullock as well, part of the thing that is offputting about him, I think, is most of the other characters are out there doing Richard Pryor meets Shakespere and he's basically doing a physical and gestural channeling of John Wayne, his clenching and the look in his eye is all he's got. Generally I think he does a good job.

Bullock is all self-repression, denial, and anger until he erupts in verbal or physical violence. I think the clench works. He is also quite charmingly out of his element around ladies and children, and I think Oliphant is adept at showing that as well.

The only other character on the show that even comes close to Bullock's self-repression is Alma Garrett, so naturally everyone else in a show about a frontier camp is going to be Richard Prior meets Shakespeare. :)

We deserved that six-episode wrap-up. Heck, we earned it.

I cannot relate to someone who feels that TV shows owe them something.

Not a big enough fan to spell their names right, eh Keswick?
