You know, he was the first country singer I ever liked! Back in the days that country music would give me the goose bumps. I found out about him from Sling Blade and I loved him. Just that, I loved him. I then started listening to country/bluegrass more often.

I saw him open once for Emmylou Harris. . .way long ago. . .I was bored spitless by his set. . .then he went on to be a big star. . .so I figured it was just me, wanting to get through the opening act to see Emmylou.

But even since then his music has not grabbed me. And I have a sense that his chicken will not have much of a chance with me either.
