We're Number Two! [pdf] Oregon is the second least corrupt state in the US (table on p.20. Mississippi is apparently the worst, followed closely by Louisianna.

Well I have always thought that Oregon gov't was pretty transparent. . .

But we STILL have Bob Packwood, Tonya Harding, the Oregon Citizen's Alliance, and a governor (Goldschmidt) who had a very long affair with a minor girl. . .whose family knew about it but were too afraid of his power to blow the whistle.

So we are not very boring, just, um, (can't find a way to complete this sentence).

Crackerbash wrote a dazzlingly acerbic song about Lon Mabon. I loved that band. Oh, man...I see they reunited for a couple of nights recently. I would've loved to have seen that.
