We need a keynote speaker! Preferably that doesn't charge millions.
→[More:]I'm working on a creative conference in Raleigh Sept 14-17, and we need a keynote speaker. Semi-well knownish, but no more than a $15k pricetag.
The conference centers around 4 workshops designed to generate ideas on increasing creative culture here. By creative culture, we include
technical innovation (R&D/patents per capita),
indy business (entreprenuership)
inclusivity (old/young, black/white/hisp., gay/straight, etc)
arts (everything traditionall regarded as arts: music, painting sculpture, writing, dance, theatre, film, etc)
The website in progress is here:

We have a list of potential people, among which are
James Surowiecki (Wisdom of Crowds)
Steven Johnson (Emergence: Connected lives of ants...)
Lyn Heward (When Sparks Fly)
But it's really wide open. Suggestions? Volunteers?!
