Ask MeCha. How often do I need to wash my swimsuit in the washing machine with detergent?→[More:]I use it in a very chlorinated pool, so I'm not worried about dirt or things growing on it. OTOH it sure does smell like chlorine. OTOH it will as soon as I get it back into the pool the next time. I usually rinse it thoroughly in tap water after a swim.

Detergent isn't going to remove more chlorine, grouse. :) You've got the right idea; rinsing is pretty much sufficient.

Launder for a clean crotch, I guess, would be the rule for me. :)

I usually just rinse in tap water then hang to dry. When I remember, I wash it with towels and stuff. Maybe once a month or two. Mmmmm, chlorine smell.

I usually just leave them on in the shower and hang them over the rail to dry. If I change out of them before going home, I take them in the shower next time I venture and give then a quick rinse.
