I love Willie Nelson, but I hate his backing band. Is there such a thing as a recording of just Willie Nelson and a guitar? I'd love to find a recording of "Always on My Mind" - but completely acoustic.

Outstanding! I've always been a Nelson fan... has anyone got any recordings?

One song that really got me was Johnny Cash doing "Hurt"... It was raw and almost solo but well-produced and really heartbreaking. If no Nelson... any recommendations in that vein?

Have you heard Teatro? It's got a band, sure, but it's Daniel Lanois and company. Very different that Willie's usual output.

Did he (Nelson) ever do one of those VH-1 Storytellers or MTV Unplugged or whatnot performances?

Also, if you like Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt,' you might seek out the four albums he (Cash) did for Rick Rubin's American Recordings, or even the Unearthed box set.

I've got the Cash albums- some of them are absolutely wonderful. Fantastic idea about the VH1/MTV thing. Thanks Box... now if only AllofMP3 has it...
