"I can't believe this is funny to people. There is not one thing funny about this. It's turned into some spectacle."
Polk trial, Thursday, part deux.
→[More:]
Later this afternoon, Susan Polk's son took the stand once again. He chided the "audience" for laughing during the trial.
"Your honor, I'm having a hard time concentrating with people in the audience laughing."
Brady took a look around the courtroom and said she didn't see anyone laughing.
"So I'm imagining it?" he sputtered.
Other news reminded me of something that I forgot to mention when I started updating youse guys. This is actually the
second trial in the Polk case. The first was ruled a mistrial when
the wife of Susan Polk's then-lawyer was killed in their home. I'd totally forgotten this.
It came up again today in a story about the original prosecutor, who left before the second trial.
He's now involved in a big embezzlement scandal. The culprit, the former prosecutor's new boss, lives a couple of doors down from where Susan Polk lived when her husband from either a) heart disease or b) 27 stab wounds.
