What's for lunch? [More:]I'm having leftover Cheez It Chicken, roasted green peas (I didn't make them; I bought them), and a not-yet-ripe pear; it's more like an apple, really. I make sneak off to a nearby bodega for Cheddar Beer Kettle Chips later.
I haven't eaten yet and I'm getting humgry! I don't really know what I want though :(

Six ripe valencia oranges, juiced into a glass, with ice and mint leaves, some cubes of fresh pineapple, and some strawberries.

I am having a cheese sandwich and an apple. Actually, one of my coworkers insists I can't call it a sandwich because it's only bread and cheese, and he claims a sandwich has to have something else like turkey. So I call it, "Bread and Cheese, Sandwich-Style."

That's why I have to pack a lunch every day. Otherwise, I never eat, or I go to the Big Enchilada and get the same thing I always get- stewed chicken enchilada, black beans, no tomatoes.

bread and cheese can't be a sandwich? Huh. Then I eat a not-sandwich many days.

I had left over chicken from last night, some tomatoes and baby carrots and hummus. And some dried fruit.

Fiery Habanero Doritos. (Frito-Lay ain't no joke). TGIF Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Skins chips, chocolate hostess cupcakes, Tropicana Lemonade. All dropped from the office vending machine.

Lemon-garlic-butter-basil ocean perch (leftover from last night's dinner) and a bag of frozen green beans with butter and salt.

Whatever they're serving at the company cafeteria. I work in the suburban desert and don't have a car so that's my only option if I don't pack a lunch.

The food's actually pretty good since the latest cook arrived. But it's money I don't need to spend and it's too meat-centric.

Leftover garlic shrimp with brown rice, and an almond poppyseed muffin for dessert if I'm still hungry.

Get back in the birthing room! No lunch for you!
/mother of two remembers when this picture she saw in a book of a man with a rope tied around his balls and a woman in labor, said woman pulling rope during every contraction, seemed utterly sensible

tuna and chicken salad over lettuce with a pita. Like Capn I am stuck with whatever the cafeteria makes unless I remember to pack a lunch.

Well, it turned out to be a bag of Cheetos Crunchies from the vending machine. Mmmm....healthy.

Salad with mixed greens, sprouts, pine nuts, roma tomato, red onion, and avocado, with a dijon vinaigrette if I get fancy with the whisk.

Which is my usual summer lunch, and I'm very happy that the weather and the farmers' market have now cooperated in making it possible again.

traditional red sauce spinach and rice and traditional meat patties. I've decided to save some money (well not so much decided, more like we run out of it). but what I really need is an appetite for work. Its 2pm already! pffft!

Barbqued leftover London Broil, carrots, alfalfa sprouts, horseradish in whole wheat flatbread, laughing cow cheese wedge or two, generic granola bar and an overripe pear. God bless Costco.

I don't know. I have a flooring rep giving a lunch presentation, and will eat whatever he/she provides. It's a big ole lunch surprise!

Oh and he claims a sandwich has to have something else like turkey? Yeah, he's an idiot.

Wikipedia says: A sandwich is a food item typically consisting of two pieces of bread between which are laid one or more layers of meat, vegetable, cheese, or other fillings, together with optional or traditionally provided condiments, sauces, and other accompaniments.

If cheese in bread is not a sandwich, then what exactly the fucking hell is a cheese sandwich?

Homemade meatloaf and homemade potato salad. From my sister. Raised the beef and grew the potatoes. Very Jeffersonian.

I used the money I earn working for a financial institution to buy a sandwich at a place next to my office. Very Hamiltonian!

I'm drooling over this thread. I've had Explosive Stomach Problems and am limited to applesauce and bananas.

I am yearning for the chicken curry in the fridge, but it is not to be.

One scrambled egg, a handful of grated cheese (jack & cheddar), a sploosh of salsa all wrapped up into a whole wheat wrap and a glass of V8 to drink.

Seriously bro, you know I loves ya but that reads more like the contents of Elvis' stomach on the autopsy report than lunch.
