Inedibly Redolent Chickenhumidifier.

ha! ha! ikkyu2. You reminded me of my Russian friends who used to cook "chicken in the bottle" in the oven. How? Oh! it was brilliant. You take an empty bottle (such of wine) and fill it up with water. Take a chicken and stick the bottle into its butt (sorry). Place bottle (with chicken on top) upright in a pan and into the oven. Bake 1hr in medium heat.

Seriously, they made a crispy and very moist chicken and all the grease was collected in the pan!

carmina, have you ever had "beer-butt" chicken? Same principle; an open can of beer instead of wine bottle with water. It makes good chicken, and the beer gets poured into the drippings for gravy making.


The foil bag of marinated chicken as a camping meal would make me nervous, ikkyu2. There would be trash impossible to hide: an open invitation to bears.

I have made this chicken. If I recall correctly, it was 20 lbs of chicken parts and six bottles of Italian dressing.

I cooked it up on a big grill in a park by the lake. The folks I invited enjoyed it a lot.

Later on we saw one foot long baby alligators in the lake, and looked aground for the momma.
