NYC bowling at Port Authority? It's been kicked around (mostly between me and jonmc) that we need to go bowling at the alley in Port Authority. And I know that someone's coming to town soonish, like in June... anyone up for bowling?

How must does it cost? Bowling has always been one of those "It's Fun Because It's Cheap" activities- but in NYC, it seems that it's very expensive.

(I should add that this bowling alley is not in the neighborhood surrounding Port Authority, but in the actual bus station itself. It inspired me to write a Waits-ian song about it:

I have an injury that might prevent me from actually bowling, but I do appreciate a good Waits reference and impersonation.

if a shark ate your fingers you probably couldn't bowl well.

bad backs might also suck.

loss of fingers. bowling with only a thumb would be rather unpleasant, me thinks.

I mentioned it might prevent me from bowling...Don't know for sure since I haven't tried bowling since well before the injury, but I pulled a muscle in the left side of my body that still hasn't healed. It's taken a couple months for it to move from painful to tolearable. The doc says it'll take a long time to fully heal and I certainly wouldn't want to risk it over some pins. I don't know. I already feel like I should be seeing him again about it.

Yeah, average medical stuff is sometimes not so exciting...thus:

I know that the reference to an NYC visitor up there was not about MOI *sniff* but I am going to be there, last week of June, first week of July. . .no don't all of you rush to offer up those guest rooms you have. .

But I would, if it flows that way, enjoy bowling a few lines and licking some stale beer off the floor with all ya's. . .
