Fiddlesticks! Susan Polk's expert witness, the self-employed pathologist, has somehow lost his notes on his autopsy-in-abstentia (from which he concluded that Polk's husband died from heart failure, not the 27 stab wounds Polk is on trial for). No notes means no cross-examination by the prosecution -- a violation of the trial procedure. The pathologist believes he might have left the notes on the airplane, or maybe the maid took them from his hotel room. Or maybe he forgot them altogether and left them at home. The problem? No one is home but the dog.
Court's adjourned for the weekend.
