Nerds Rejoice! Glad to see that I no longer need to cling to my LD copies. →[More:]And I will never again have to see Hayden Christensen's smug mug plastered over Sebastian Shaw's. Hurrah!
I moused over the link, saw "starwars" in the URL, and thought "meh". Then on passing the link for maybe the fourth time, I saw "I no longer need to cling to my LD copies". Could it be? Is it? No way!
Sweet! I wonder if the text crawl at the beginning of the first one will say "Episode IV, A New Hope" or just nothing like it did in 1977? I hope for nothing -- then I'll be 13 again!
According to a post I saw linked elsewhere, the new DVDs will be exactly as they were originally released. Same title crawl, same old special effects, same crappy music in the last scene of ROTJ. Whether this is actually true, however, remains to be seen.
If you'd already bought all these movies in the molested edition, specifically because the creator swore up and down and backwards and forwards that he'd never release the theatrical versions, would it really be wrong, morally speaking, to "obtain" these versions from the Internet?
