Agro Asked Me To Post Some Reggae Tunes... So I did![More:]

Don Drummond - El Pussy Cat

Carlton & The Shoes - Love Me Forever

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Small Axe

Dry & Heavy - Dawn Is Breaking

Dawn Penn - You Don't Love Me (No No No)

Hopefully, The Really Smart Person Who I Adore But Insists Reggae "All Sounds The Same" will begin to change her mind and not write off an entire genre of music!

Sheesh.
This is awesome. I definitely wouldn't complain if you decided to post some more!

nice...the Drummond track is ska, but that's splitting joints. thanks Black8 - have you heard U-Roy's version of Small Axe? It's awesome. I'd post, but I'm at werk. Also, if you don't already have it, Dry and Heavy's Dub Creation LP is great great dub.

Here's one I happened to have at werk though - Angela Prince - No Bother With No Fuss

black8 - excellent choices! Thanks for posting this. I wasn't familiar with Carlton & The Shoes or Dry & Heavy, and I love them.

Dub forever!

Hellbient, I haven't heard U-Roy's version, please post it if you get a chance!

I tried to pick some tunes that a lot of people aren't totally familiar with (the Dawn Penn song is an exception) and spanned a good chunk of time.

I'll be dropping some more in the future!

Oh, I will, I will. It's one of my all time favorites. I like it better than the Marley version, but I have a bias towards the late 70s period anyway. Granted, he's also got behind nearly a decade's worth of studio-trickery from when the original came out.

I finally got these tracks and am listening to them on my ipod at work. They're pretty good music to work to. And no, they don't all sound the same. Thanks!
