I see some of what you're talking about in Garrison Keillor... you can tell much of his lefty-ness comes directly from his religious upbringing.

By my cursory skimming, no one in that thread has mentioned what an opportunistic, Patriot Act supporting, "Lets Roll" singing hypocrite Neil Young has become. (oh wait, one person did mention it)
