Ask Mecha (urgent-ish) I need to know where Thunderbird stores its data. [More:]My Dell bluescreened this morning and Windows would not boot into safe mode. This after installing the new upgrade that I assumed most of us woke up to this morning. It sits now ready for my repair guy to snatch and ghost the drive if needed. Luckily, I've backed about 85% of my most essential stuff to my external HD, but not the emails in Thunderbird. Where does the bird hide its Inbox and sub-folders? If he can get under the hood long enough to fetch anything, this is the most vitally important.

Thanks in advance, peeps. I'm so grateful that my workplace has bought me a laptop which is actually kickass, otherwise I'd be in uncontrollable hysterics.
Assuming this is a Windows XP Pro PC...

on mine, it's c/documents&settings/all users/MyUsername/Application Data/Thunderbird and then there's a load of folders because I have a lot of inboxes. The .msf files containing email data are within each folder.

hope this helps!

in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Thunderbird
