Answer The Phone, Dummy! [More:]

A theme set of YSI's.

Replacements - Answering Machine
Nerves - Hanging On The Telephone
Electric Light Orchestra - Telephone Line

and (completely unrelated, but kickass) bonus track:

Misfits - Where Eagles Dare
How about Operator by Grateful Dead, Telephone Blues by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Phone Calls from the Dead by Meat Beat Manifesto, Call Me by Al Green, Please Call Home by The Allman Brothers, Alarm Call by Bjork, or even London Calling by The Clash?

All great songs, terrapin, but these are more up my alley, and what I had on hand digitally and i didn't wanna go bananas.

hey, at least I left off Blondie, dude

I like Blondie, dude. They're part of the Bowery crew that epitomizes punk rawk to me. And they covered the Nerves song I posted above. And I remember seeing video of Debbie Harry performing in the 70's in a Brenda Starr t-shirt. There's a lady who understands cool. Plus there's this classic picture:

Yeah, Blondie is great. They are considered pretty serious in the pantheon of NYC post punk. And Debbie Harry is actually a very cool individual.

I wouldn't even bother with the 'post.' They were part of the original Ramones/Dictators/Talking Heads/Voidoids posse back in the day. And NYC and Detroit was where punk began, not London.

Never said anything about not liking Blondie, but "Call Me" was a not their best song IMHO, and a little overplayed.

But my comment was that "Call Me" was a bit too obvious, and I had Al Green's song with that name already.

Sorry. Back to cleaning the house on this rainy Sunday.
