Wow. I love rainbows. The bright 'doorway' effect is awesome. I wonder what they made of rainbows in ancient times?

I would say pretty much the same thing most regular folks make of them now, which is that they are rainbows. And they sometimes occur when rain and sunlight mix in the right way. I don't think there's anything particularly scientifically novel that has changed our thinking about rainbows...

those were lovely photos - how perfect to have that tree in the middle there...
