YOU'RE THE BEST! AROUND! This is an explicitly chatty question, ergo it goes here:→[More:]

What are the best montage songs you can think of? After seeing Karate Kid (which features not one but two excellent montage music sequences— the Bananarama "Cruel Summer" soccer thing and the YOU'RE THE BEST! AROUND! NOTHIN'S GONNA EVER KEEP YOU DOWN!), I've been trying to think of other great sequences. Ideally, set to catchy pop songs. Karate Kid, for me, really is the ur-type, but Ghostbusters is right in there. And while Rocky does have a training montage, it lacks the bubblegum pop aspect...
(Another odd fact— Gang of Four was on the Karate Kid soundtrack... What the fuck?)

Also appreciated would be YSIs of either of those songs, as I still have YOU'RE THE BEST stuck in my head now days after seeing the movie.

Since it's chatty anyway, I'll share what I thought of, although neither are particularly bubblegummy:

Donnie Darko, "Mad World"

and

the end of Annie Hall, the somg is "Seems Like Old Times" although honestly I remember the images more than the song on that one

and

not a montage, but yes bubblegummy - I love the dance to "Time After Time" at the end of Romy & Michelle's HS Reunion.

I like the scene in Zoolander where the models are at the gas station and Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go is playing and they're all vogueing with the gas pump and the window cleaner. But again that's not really a montage. I'm having a hard time thinking of a montage.
