Someone should tell this fellow April Fool's was two days ago. [More:]While we're at it, Britney covers "I Love Rock & Roll" (.mov link) Apparently, when she was asked why she covered the song she said it was because she was a big Pat Benatar fan. Also, Jessica Simpson covers "Take My Breath Away" (also a .mov link). Maybe she covered it because she liked Frankfurt? (The latter two links via jwz).

Well, should we really expect her to know who the Arrows are?

Well, Mother Theresa was a vapid, self-serving asshole, just like Paris Hilton, so the casting sounds perfect to me. God I wish people would stop holding that horrible woman up as a paragon of charity.

cmonkey - no defence of MoTe (That's Mother Teresa's ghetto name, yo) intended. I kept on expecting to read that the director was Uwe Boll, though.

drjimmy11 - I have been right schooled by you, sir.

I didn't think you were; I'm just dreading the omfg paris hilton is so not worthy of holding up that glorious saint's image on screen media orgy that is sure to happen.

Will somebody tell those girls to stop stroking themselves. It's not sexy, and frankly It just makes me worry about their sanity.

*watches jessica Simpson video again, and imagines she's slowly removing imaginary spiders*

I too thought that song was written by Joan Jett until recently. I just find it ironic that 98% (my estimate) of the people who make fun of Britney for not knowing who did it originally, don't know either.

Regardless of who penned the original, it still doesn't change the fact that Pat Benatar didn't remake the song.

Well Fris, you're right in that it exposes Britney's faux pas in confusing Joan Jett and Pat Benatar, Ms. Jett being behind the most popular rendition of the song. That she wasn't the author of the song is technically irrelevant but is still enough to make me feel a little silly since it exposes my own ignorance.

Confusing Jett and Benatar is forgivable if you're a thirteen-year old boy drifting off to sleep with his hands down his pajama pants. Nobody will ever know.
