NURBS is an actual command in AutoCAD.[More:]

It's for nonuniform rational B-spline curve. A B-spline curve or surface defined by a series of weighted control points and one or more knot vectors. See also B-spline curve.
It's bad that I thought "Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline" before I clicked inside, isn't it.

My friends and I wrote Imago, the first ever rendering program to make use of NURBS.

That was exciting specklet! Unfortunately noobs isn't a command though :(
Kinda reminds me of a unix easter egg: Reed College's Unix system used to give you the molecular structure of acid if you typed lsd at the command prompt.

*nerd powers activate - form of sensless pedantry!!!!*
