¿Best Pop? The gods that be over at our fatherland deemed this question "chatfilter", so I re-ask here: ¿What's your favorite contemporary (like 2005-2006) pop music?
Guilty pleasures included. I for instance confess to an unhealthy preference for Girls Aloud.
Girls Aloud. Cool. Also, I like Sugababes and Ashlee Simpson. Actually, I am rather partial to any girly pop, provided it has a catchy chorus.

And here's a big thumbs up for using the "¿". Love it.

Ashlee Simpson makes my ears bleed.

I like Franz Ferdinand but am not especially clued in on when music is released. And, this may result in my Cool card being permanently revoked, I like some of Shakira's music (Whenever, Wherever) but I think its mostly because she's pretty insanely hot.

Gwen Stefani's good too.

I must admit I don't mind some of Gwen Stefani and The Veronicas, perhaps because I have become familiar with them due to their continued rotation when the lady of the house gets control of the car stereo. I'm not happy that I like them, but I do.

I have to say I have an irrational dislike for Ashlee Simpson. I hate her in a way that makes no sense, since I have never met her. She just falls into the absolutely no talent ass clown school of tooldom like Sharon Stone.

Goldfrapp. Their new album is really cool.

Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, and yes, the Spice Girls.

The Shins. Shins, Shins, Shins, Shins, Shins.

The Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, Franz Ferdinand, Blonde Redhead, Dengue Fever, The Futureheads, The Wrens, The Super Furry Animals.

And the Shins.

I think the last overtly pop music I got into was Architecture in Helsinki. It's good stuff.

Actually, that's all songs.
FWIW, I'm thinking pop-pop, the kind of stuff you're embarrased to admit to liking IRL.

James Blount, I suppose? He worked with Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes who has a lucrative second career as a producer and songwriter (Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, P!nk ...)

P!nk and Annie are the ones for me that are album-worthy.
