Nothing. I don't like anything that makes my startup take longer.

My laptop goes:

"Daisy, daiiiisssyyyyy...."

I'm in the selfnoise/arse_hat camp. Just the BIOS beep, and a very subtle, almost inaudible new mail notification. My new mail notification used to say "You have mail, Mistress" but that got very old, very quickly.
