Peeking out of Oblivion before going to bed. I haven't done much today but play this damn game. Um, it was cold as heck today and will be about the same tomorrow, but it is going to be really warm starting Sunday, so all day tomorrow I will explore this vast vast game and then the next day I will go out in the sunshine. Destroy my inner vampire or something. OBLIVION! So pretty... my precious. We loves it... and we hates it. We HATES IT! It controls us, the precious does...

Already some Oblivion mods out

Nothing amazing of course, but the better coins is nice as are a couple others.

I've been playing—a lot—that game, "rong", that was posted last week. Round pong, if you didn't see it. I think it's brilliant in its elegance and fun.

I just ordered a new video card specifically to play Oblivion on higher settings. There's clearly something wrong with my brain.

I went out and bought oblivion and a new stick of ram to take me up to a gig. Unfortunately I have to upgrade my video card to play the game and I won't have any spare cash for a week or two. Fucking great. This is the first time I've had to upgrade anything in 4+ years.

Hi. I'm still playing mono. Oh, and that slime-blob flash game. And a bit of armagetron. Freespace, too, and Descent 1 through 3, but I gave up on American McGee's Alice. I also play solitaire, text twist and bejeweled on my palm pilot when I'm dropping the kids off at the pool. Yeah, I bet you wanted to know that. I know. No, don't thank me, it's always a pleasure to share with you. Now if you'll excuse me I still have 30 shines to get in Mario Sunshine, and I haven't even cleared level one yet on Metroid Prime. And the re-issue extended length version of Ocarina of Time. Yoshi's Island needs finishing, too. Crap. Maybe it'd just be easier to clone myself.

Loquacious, I actually paid for Bejeweled for my Palm. It's my default time-killer.

All y'all are confusing me, though, with these newfangled "gigs" of RAM and fancy video cards. I've spent the past two weeks keepin' it exceedingly real.

Yeah weretable, it's an extremely pretty game. It actually runs better (6600GT) than Morrowind (Ti4200) did (same CPU/RAM) for me. Load times are better than HL2. A *little* bit unstable, though.

Primary skills advance too fast (thus levelling too fast).

Y'alls probably won't hear from me in the evenings quite as often as before Oblivion.

I already have my "second" character in my head. A shame the save system doesn't make it easier to manage this sort of thing.

How about making two different batch files for each character?

copy "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\character1" "c:\documents and settings..yaddya.../oblivion/savegames/"

launchoblivion.exe (I'm at work - forgot what the filename really is)

copy "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\character1" "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\backup"

del "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\character1\*.*"

copy "c:\documents and settings..yaddya.../oblivion/savegames/*.*" "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\character1\"

del "c:\oblivion\backupsaves\backup\*.*"
