"Are New Yorkers in danger?" the mayor asked at a breakfast at the New York Public Library. "This is New York, and I would suggest that the coyote may have more problems than the rest of us."

Seriously. That's one lost coyote. But a pretty healthy looking one, considering. Healthy enough to be a pet or zoo specimen.

Though, the coyotes around these parts tend towards scruffy, if not outright bedraggled. But the open lowland deserts around here are rough places.

My stepmother is now worried that a coyote will eat our family dog. They live in DC. There are coyotes around, but now the dog can't go out at night.

Yeah, you can find coyotes from Rock Creek Park all the way up to Savage and Laurel. I know a dog who won't set foot in Savage Park for fear of the ferals.
