Hiya taz! Here's what we've heard so far:

Chuck Prophet – What Can You Tell Me?
J. Geils Band – Houseparty (Live)
The Faces – Stay With Me
The Sonics – Have Love, Will Travel

I just came in at the end of The Faces.
posted by taz 18 March | 04:24
Then you haven't missed much. Anything you'd like replayed?
posted by bmarkey 18 March | 04:26
yes, Pogues, plz. (unless I have to leave for grocery shopping first...)
posted by taz 18 March | 04:32
OK. I'd guess there's maybe another 45 minutes in the set as planned. If you need to leave before then, I can YSI it.

Y'know, I generally don't have much use for Linda Ronstadt, but I've always loved this song. I think it's the psuedo-George Harrison guitar solo, and the drumming, and that little instrumental bit at the tail end of the song. That's why I play it.

Oh my, this was just what I needed. I love hearing you play when I get home from work. Translator. Sweet.

The Bay Area especially misses you right back. IIRC, weren't you and Science Girl down here in the last six months or so?

On preview: tackles taz and whuffles her enthusiastically.
posted by Frisbee Girl 18 March | 05:14
Thanks, taz. Much appreciated.

Fros: yeah, we were down in the Lodi area visiting Ma & Pa Markey. Haven't been in SF since about 2002 or so. during the drive down I'd promised SG coller temps once we hit The City. Wouldn't you know it that it hit 98 while we were there?
posted by bmarkey 18 March | 05:17
Thanks, b, but I'm just too tickled to have caught a bit of the show, no need to replay anything. This merely gives me incentive to check in more frequently.
posted by Frisbee Girl 18 March | 05:18
Who the hell is Fros? That should be Fris, of course. Damn Guinness...
posted by bmarkey 18 March | 05:18
And coller temps? Kids, take a tip from yer ol' uncle b - don't drink & type.
posted by bmarkey 18 March | 05:21
Ha! I figured you were implying that I was ultra-coll, I mean cool. Love the Guinness, b, and typo away. You're amongst friends here, no?
posted by Frisbee Girl 18 March | 05:24
Thank you kindly, miss.

Richard & Linda Thompson – The Little Beggar Girl
Queen – I’m In Love With My Car
Neil Young – Revolution Blues

And then The Pogues, and I think I'll throw in that Belle & Sebastian song for Frisbee Girl.

posted by bmarkey 18 March | 05:27
you're a sweetie, b. And friz? Consider yourself whuffled within an inch of your life! I am always so happy to see you.
posted by taz 18 March | 05:29
Much as I hate to do so, I must head to bed. Thank you both for listening, and have a swell weekend why don't you?
posted by bmarkey 18 March | 05:32
Oh, the love! How I feel the love! My tail's wagging like crazy right now (it's a little known fact that Frisbees have tails.)

I've never heard Belle & Sebastian before, but they do sound groovy. Thanks, b!

And taz, it's nice to be 'surfacing' a bit again. =) I love our late night poking about.
posted by Frisbee Girl 18 March | 05:35
Friz, here's Here's a fun thread about pugs that ended up having some interesting info about the origin of the name Belle & Sebastian.

"You're Cover's Blown" is a really nice Belle & Sebastian. If anyone with some more B&S tunes sees this thread and wants to ysi some for the friz to check out, please do!
posted by taz 18 March | 05:50
Hey thanks, taz! I've heard much about them, but somehow haven't (knowingly) actually heard them until now.
