There's an L.A. River? Did Neil Diamond swim in it?

Sweet! I read about how Phoenix is using its network of irrigation canals for aquaculture. The canals now provide drinking water, since all the farms have been replaced with suburbs, so many neighborhoods have access to them. Obviously, water quality is not an issue, unlike LA. They grow some pretty big catfish and trout in there!

The L.A. River is nice. It runs through concrete channels, but trees and shrubs grow in parts, and there is an ecosystem with birds. It has some pollution, but anything that gets runoff from a city will. L.A. doesn't get its drinking water from it. Also, it has painted cats.

dano - did you ever see Terminator 2? Parts of it were filmed in it. The car race in Grease was as well.
