So, an undercover cop comes to my door... [More:]...and the first thing I think of is what I've done (or not done.) Come to find out, they're tracking a burglary suspect in my neighborood and now I've got cops traipsing all through my yard and talking into walkie talkies.

I'm officially freaked out. I'm quiet glad that I've got a rather large dog, though.
So what have you, uh, not done?

Heh. Nothing. I'm just a little gunshy when it comes to the fuzz.

Ack! Flush your stash! Get a lawyer! Call the ACLU!

Daamn, that's good service. The other week when that happened in my neighborhood, the Sheriff's Robot Deputy called me on the phone.

You know what would be even cooler than a Robot Deputy? A Robot Dog Deputy!

Stay right here with us YouCanCallMeAl... we'll have the bunnylawyers all over this thing. We'll also send out the drugsniffingdog-sniffing bunny. It doesn't really achieve anything, but it freaks the dog right out.

Did they ask for permission to traipse or did they just go right ahead?

They got a job to do. As long as they're courteous and respectful, respect the badge.

Nothing I appreciate more than a cop or fireman protecting my premises, and I always thank them profusely.

But the cops that leave their radios on when looking for a prowler are wimps, using the noise to give the guy a chance to get away and avoid a confrontation.

Al, every time I scroll past this thread, I read it as "So, an underwear cop comes to my door..."

How do I get me one of those?

I'm grateful that he came and warned me and let me know what he was doing. I've just already been robbed twice at other places and I'm a little paranoid. I went to Home Depot and got chains for my doors...I try to make light of the situation, but it really bothers me.

Jon buddy,
You're my good friend and you know I'm a fan but I don't and never will respect a badge, maybe, possibly the person that holds it, never ever a badge. In that direction lies voluntary slavery.

I know exactly how you feel, Al. I'm sorry you are going through this. It's been a long time now that I haven't really had to worry about it... so long that I've almost forgotten to be amazed and grateful every day. That was actually a big part of why we left the U.S.

Relax. They're just after streakers.
