I got in! I just got word that I was accepted at my first choice University (University of Alberta in Edmonton) to do my PhD starting in September. Metafilter is off the hook, but I couldn't have gotten to this point without this community of people. Thanks guys!

Department of Sociology, but I will be in the part of the department that works with social theory and cultural studies (I think).
