Are the search and radio pages all wacky for anyone else? They've been like that for as long as I can remember. (ff 1.5, xp)
Yep.

The radio page black lines is on the to do list. The search page has always looked that way for me too. (w2k ff 1.5) He He, it hadn't occurred to me the search page was off!

hm, what causes the black lines? I've checked out the radio background and it looks fine when viewed by itself. And I just figured that search page was wacky since it's all funny looking.

Is it the background tile? Your guess is as good as mine.

I blame Isaac Hayes.

We haven't been able to figure out the black lines weirdness... But would somebody check the radio page now, and see if it's changed? (You may need to hold down the shift key while clicking the refresh or reload button, to override the cache memory).

Hey the radio page is without black lines now. (FF 1.5, Mac OS X)
posted by dhruva 13 March | 23:49
huh. yeah, that did it. What did you do?
posted by puke & cry 13 March | 23:49
Whoah, really!?! Cool... I had looked at everything and couldn't figure it out, 'til you mentioned the background tile, which I hadn't thought of. Then I found this. I really have no idea what it means, but I finally figured out that the black lines must actually be text: "Image cannot be displayed because it contains errors."

It was just a regular .gif, so I don't know why that was happening, but I switched to a .jpg.

BRILLIANT!!

hm, I guess it's this: the most likely scenario is that Your installation of PHP has both enabled output buffering and enabled strict error checking.
Why the image contains errors, I don't know.

ALL HAIL TAZ! WHO DOES MORE WORK THAN THIS THAT IS LESS VISIBLE AND WILL NEVER GET ITS OWN THREAD!

Wait, this isn't a shouting thread, is it?

heh. Actually, I'm pretty lazy. Dodgy is really the bunnysaint on this bus. Trust me.

I'm interested to know why that img was throwing an error. Any ideas?
posted by puke & cry 14 March | 00:45
does it have funky metadta? Can that be it?
posted by jelly 14 March | 00:51
I have no idea... I'm assuming some problem with the upload. I suspect just re-uploading the original .gif from my hard drive probably would have solved the problem, and I may check that out later.

posted by taz 14 March | 00:56
yeah, I figured bad upload. who knows.

Okay, I think the search page problem is fixed as well. Let me know if you see a problem.

Looks good Taz. Thans! (w2k ff 1.5)

I thanked dodgy in another thread, but many huzzahs to taz as well!

I've still got lines. If you need, I can post a screenshot.

Then again, the lines never bothered me.

the radio buttons have some weird placement. Not a big deal though so whatever.

:( Eid, Try refreshing while holding down the shift key, if you haven't already done that. p&c, maybe you, too?
posted by taz 14 March | 13:51
yup, that did it. I guess I should have shift-refreshed to begin with. Thanks taz.
