So... what's your favorite bomb? [More:] I mean... what movie do you like that when you tell other people, they just give you this "O RLY" look? Mine is the link: Desperately Seeking Susan. Truth be told, I don't think I've ever seen it all the way through from beginning to end, but I just like the movie. When I'm channel surfing and it's on, I stop.

There. I've said it. Now, maybe I can actually get up the courage to rent it at the video store.
Death to Smoochy.

Does Tremors qualify?

a ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb?

Freddy Got Fingered. 1/3 of it is brilliant, and they designed the chapter skip button on my remote control specifically for the other 2/3.

Tremors was a fine film. As was The Eiger Sanction.

I have fond memories of a film with Jeff Bridges and Sam Waterson called Rancho Deluxe, but it's been a thosand years since I've seen it. It may not be as good as I think it was.

The Eiger Sanction.????

On the whole, it sucked, but one line redeemed the entire film:
Clint: "Don't forget your trenchcoat. How will anyone recognize you without your disguise?"

Oh, the writing is generally pretty bad. That's what's so good about it. I mean, the whole premise of the famous mountain climbing art history teacher who's a deadly CIA assassin on the side... Yeah, I'm there every time they run it on TV.

Thermobaric.

(and tremors and remo williams)

But mostly the bunker buster and if that's not available, the irish car bomb, but instead of dropping a shot of Bailey's in the Guiness just bring me a Bushmills neat and then fucking get the women and children into the storm cellar.

I don't usually admit this in public, but I've always had a soft spot for Airheads.

It was kind of a bomb, but my favorite is probably The Abyss. Maybe it's just that I think I'm the one person who totally got what Cameron was going for with that one.

It wasn't a bomb, but it seems to provoke that same O RLY reaction -- Armageddon. I check my brain (and hard sf credentials) at the door, and butter the popcorn. I love the little way all the characters have their notes and moments, and the ad-style fades and flourishes and camera angles are all revel-ready cheese.

and let't not forget the black leading lady in Eiger was named "Jemima Brown".

My favorite bombs are zombie movies, esp with Milla. She can run down my buildings any day.

Singing models, Loreal ladies,zombies/???????/take money right out of my wallet right now!

Right on, deborah. Waterworld. I watched it the other day. I own the soundtrack.

Yes! Armageddon and The Fifth Element as well. Love, LOVE, LOVE those movies. And Stargate.

I am so NOT a critical critic. I love/like something or I don't. Music, book and movie snobs can bite me.

Does B-TV count? Hercules and Xena, especially when Bruce Campbell was on Xena. Anything with Bruce Campbell, even though he talks about ham sandwiches a lot and he made fun of eco-terrorists in his last book.

2 movies that totally bombed that I bought the DVDs of right away because I loved them so much:
  • Monkeybone
  • Mystery Men
