09 March 2006

I'd like to request 9 PM Eastern Time for a long Radio MeCha set [More:]I've got a set that's about 2 hours and 15 minutes tonight and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. So if that's all right with everyone, tune in at 9 Eastern, 8 Central, 7 Pacific, you non-USAians will have to figure out your own time dammit, and Zorgax (that's Omicron Persei VIII time)

I know Radio MeCha is a "first come first served" kinda deal, but I find myself getting really anal and paranoid over how much I'm using it. So please bear with my neuroses. Thank you.
In that case, I call 11:15pm Eastern!

Not a problem, wd, we're still kind of anarchic but people have "reserved" times before. The heads up is much appreciated!

Also, don't worry about the length or frequency of your sets. More is better! I've done 4 hour sets; when I was starting up the random alphabet stuff I played every night for a while; and some people (e.g., Eideteker) have been known to do 5+ hour sets.

BTW, Pacific is 3 hours before Eastern. So that would be 6 Pacific.

Paging kmellis for the Mountain Time smackdown.

More is better... I think we should have radio all the time.

Sadly your set begins at 4 a.m. for me, wolfdaddy... But I might catch the end of it. I often get up earlyearly.

I apologize for not following as closely as I should. Has the theme been figured out? Any more hints? Links to that stuff?

Also: It's true what they say; women are from Omicron Persei VII, and men are from Omicron Persei IX.

Dano ... I'll just give the answer now, since I'm now doing EXPANDED DISCO REMIX SETS!

I was born in 1965. Each set I've been playing have been the top 15 (and now the top 40) songs of each year from 1965 on through to 2005. I'm Kasey Kasem from the Futurama parallel universe, and I'm totally making fun of the fact that mike9322 has no cowboy hat! HA HA HAH!

"Welcome back to America's Top 40. This next song goes out to Linda, from Paul, who's stationed at Fort Dix. Paul wants Linda to know he'll be home soon. Here's the Carpenters, at number 12, with "Close to You"..."

Mountain Time! We're #1!

I have some of the Billboard's Top 40 CDs. Which is odd, considering I hate top 40. But most of the ones I have are the early 70s, which is my exception to the rule...for various reasons, not all of them having anything at all to do with the quality of the music.

There's a Mountain Time now?

oh, speaking of flashbacks, The Day After is on at 9pm on SciFi too.

(Eide, they felt pity for that part of the country, so invented it) ; >

Actually, I have a bone to pick with Central time, too. What *is* it with the people who make up these rules, where the news is on at 10 PM instead of 11. Do they think we're just a bunch of dumb hicks who have to go to bed earlier so we can go tend to our fields as soon as the sun comes up? Hmph.

yup, wolf...and they know the outhouses are all the way out back, so you guys need time to get thru the swamp or desert or whatever it is. ; >
