AxeMe Lyrically: "It's better to conceal than reveal" [More:]I'm looking for the lyrics to the Dinah Shore song "It's better to conceal than reveal." I can find the title all over the place, but not the lyrics. My GoogleFu has deserted me! Hope me Mechazens and fellow conspirators.
I don't know the song, but I can make up some lyrics for you.

Like a burlesque show
an infected big toe
or where you keep your dough,
It's better to conceal than reveal

Like an after hours club
What's in the diner's grub
or the size of your pay stub
It's better to conceal than reveal

[chorus]
It's better to conceal than reveal
The only way to maintain your appeal
It's better to conceal than reveal
If you want your relationship's zeal

Like a fancy-dress dance
Everyone looks askance
When you shit your pants
It's better to conceal than reveal

i'm on it...hang on...i'm thinking me or TPS will know--it's most likely a show tune she redid.

ah! Doris Day did it too, with Dinah: try searching Doris Day's lyrics --a sample is here

god, i hate lyrics sites---they bite. i'm betting it's on one of them, under Doris Day.

I think this song is just too obscure to have ended up on a lyrics site. The original is by Dinah, a later duet with her appearing with Doris and one by Doris alone. I've been all over those stupid lyrics sites for two days and have been defeated by the sheer volume of garbage, bogus links, pop-ups, malware and such.

They're playing it on KMRE-LP's rotation, but I only seem to tune in when it's ending. I have no way of playing MP3 - even if any of those stupid sites really had any, instead of trojans, spyware, popups and bogus links.

I'm thinking about using some of the lyrics for a citation in a legal pleading on a public disclosure case.

Capn's pretty darned close, but the title line is repeated several times in each chorus.
