Gee, thanks... I think. So, I normally love my landlords. He's Australian, and I swear to god, when I met him, he was wearing cargo shorts and a cowboy hat. She's sweet as can be, although we've only emailed and talked on the phone. They even sent us all pictures of their baby at Christmas. But today...→[More:]

I'm not so annoyed he stopped by when my roommate and I were both at work to move the smoke detector (it was on a wall somewhere, now it's above the door). I just wish he would have used the stepstool I have in the kitchen to hang it, instead of a patio chair. And if he was going to use a patio chair, that he would have closed the patio door all the way and made sure to lock it. The door doesn't latch right in the cold, it was open when I came home, my apartment is chilly and the heater is going full blast. (the heater I have to pay for, that is... otherwise I wouldn't care at all)

So what bizarre things annoyed you today?

We got a coffee maker at the office, it's like a stovetop one but electric. Anyway, the bottom section where you put the cold water has a higher capacity than the top section where the coffee ends up. So you have to be careful to only fill it part way or it overflows all over the benchtop. A small design flaw, but annoying.

Being a temp at Starbucks, where everything they're asking me to do I need training on, so the woman training me is getting pissed at having to do her job and train me to do similar work at the same time, also who I might add, is my red-hot midget lover (fantasy time!) and having to train with her is like having to pay attention while a sexy wall calendar hottie talks to you.

My boss and I had a conference call with one of our most demanding clients (who I manage)- we've discussed whether we want to terminate our business relationship with them. They basically said on the phone what we already knew- that they expect to know as much as someone who works for their company (which is A, impossible, and B, not our business). So imagine my surprise when my boss and I did a post-call wrap up, and she said everything sounds fine with them and that we should keep them on as a client. Say whaaaaaaaat?

So it turns out it wasn't the landlord, it was his wife, and my roommate was still here when they got here. I guess the building inspector had to do his annual inspection and had her move the detector.

So I have no reason to be mad at all now. Except for at my roommate, but he didn't live here until late fall, so he didn't know about the patio door.

But HE was annoyed since she brought her 11 month old baby. Which I can understand as our place is anything but childproof (we both smoke and have lighters everywhere, he collects knives, cables all over the floor for the computer, my sewing basket, and that's just the obvious stuff.)

But I guess they have to put a "closer" on our apartment door so it shuts on its own. Which sucks, but I guess it's a city regulation. I always liked that this was the only place I lived without one, makes carrying groceries in a million times easier.
