Warning! It would probably be illegal to use this with radio MeCha, so... don't do it, ok?
Note: product neither endorsed nor tested by Capn LLC

Amber, you can use the free Soundflower to route sound to a recorder app (like Audacity).

i'm too lazy to use 2 diff programs--there's no 1-program solution? : >

Okay, that's handy. I thought I was going to have to whip up something to do this myself.

So, be DJing people! Oh, yeah, let me hear your music! (But it's going to be low quality, huh?)

Oh sure, but that way's free. You could use Rogue Amoeba Audio Hijack Pro.

i've been using streamtuner (which integrates streamripper for recording) on my linux box. works great!

I've been using On Line Radio Tuner. It's free and straight forward. Still in Beta though. Would like to hear about other's experience with Station Ripper. I gave it a look-see and found it confusing. But that might just be me.

The big thing I've found with these rippers is the timing between tracts. That is, how the ripper handles closing one track's file before another track starts. Sometimes, I get a little off the beginning and a bit tagged on the end of a track.

But aren't you recording a copy of a copy, and is there any difference in the sound quality? (no, really)

You are re-encoding something that's already been re-encoded for broadcast. There can be a noticable sound difference depending on your settings.

Here's a track I recorded with On Line Radio Tuner.

Isn't it? I love Cycling '74... Next to Ableton they have the best OS X audio programmers out there...
