20 February 2006

It's Job Application Time! Well I've read my morning blogs, Metafilter = teh down, and it is time for me to go apply for some work! I've brewed a pot of tea and am now taking some applications into the sunny bedroom.[More:]
I've already applied for a dozen jobs and gotten one rejection formletter back (can a formletter be snarky? this one was.) I won't stop until I am well employ-ificated!

That job is waiting
for all the things that you do...
You're perfect for it -
and it's perfect for you!!!!!!!

go, btgog!!! GO!!! Rah, rah, YAY!!!!

(Okay, I'm not as good at this as The Pink Superhero, but since she must still be slumbering peacefully, I'm standing in.)

Back because I'm writing a query about where should the bloody thing be sent, there are two addresses on the app-pack for this one.

You're a good lady, taz.

Furthermore, I got sucked into notpron again last night thanks to you. Hisssss! :P

So i was applying to come to this Uni and they needed a mini essay about myself, and I was thinking what the hell do i say about myself, and i was beating my brains out about it, but then I ran across this self styled astrologer dude, who claimed to be able to read palms and he told me a bunch of things, so in a moment of inspiration, i put down in the application what he'd told me. Ta da, and here i am :)

Soooo dhruva, you're saying that you are doing a post-grad course under false pretenses and that you lied in order to gain an Australian visa?

$50 cash a week ought to suffice. Contact me for delivery details.

what are looking for, by the?

Me? I'm looking for a senior clerical job. I would prefer to do web design but I need some certification first, I fear.

Yay for alienation. Btthtbt.

anybody use that google mail chat thing by the way?
posted by By the Grace of God 20 February | 08:42
I use Gmail chat. : ) It is the only chat program I am able to use at work!
posted by sisterhavana 20 February | 09:24
I use it, though I almost always have mine set to "busy". But if anyone wants to talk to me they can give it a try; I just never remember to change it to "available", unless I happen to be waiting to be contacted by someone specifically... And most of the time, I'm not quite sure if I want to chat or not. How can I get an icon that conveys all that?

I'm about the same as you taz. It took me a bit by surprise actually - a couple of people have 'popped in' and while I like them of course, I'm not sure I like the implied 'pressure' of having a live chat box.

I used to use msn a fair bit but not so much these days.

I like email. Email is good. I will give my considered thoughts via email. If I want more/faster I'll pick up a telephone - is how I generally feel.

and amberglow, I'll settle for $50Monopoly

under false pretenses

What false pretences???! It was written in the lines of my palm. Anybody can check to verify. No monopoly money for you Mister Peacay, but maybe some cowrie shells.
