For the Love of the Ringtone Join, upload, download and voila, custom ringtone for free.→[More:]My three tones so far are Arctic Monkeys - Fake Tales of San Francisco, The Vapors - Turning Japanese and Don Tiki - The Natives are Restless (links are to mobile sites). No cost and no spam so far, it just takes a while to load them up. But you can choose where the ringtone starts and it can be up to 40 seconds long.
For just the price of a throwaway email address and your cell number (which they swear up and down, again and again, that they will never use to send spam or sell to anyone).

What you need
* Cell phone with MP3 ring-tone support
* CD or MP3 of the song
* Any method of transferring the ring tone from computer to phone (USB, Bluetooth, e-mail, instant message, etc.)
* Audio-editing software that allows export to MP3.

Because I don't have any of those things.

Ah, I see. Fair enough! I've got everything I need; I'm just too lazy to try it out. (That, and I like my phone going *ring ring* just fine.)

mgl, you are lucky not to have a cellphone - they're annoying and the mindset they encourage - that one ought to be in contact 24/7/365 - is downright virulent.

That said, my cell is my ONLY phone. So I guess I'm avant garde.

My current ringtone is London Calling, which I'm getting kinda tired of. So I'll have to check out this free ringtone dealie.
