Haha...I think it's just a poorly worded post. I took it to mean that he's shocking his cat, and shocking his monkey. But not necessarily at the same time.
Nah, it's just poorly worded. He's talking about accidentally shocking his cat via static electricity when he pets it. I had a cat who was susceptible to static too, and I could sometimes see little sparks when I petted her. She never seemed to mind though.
Cats are masters of the indignant look. One of my old apartments* had a little recessed area by a basement window that was lover's lane for the local feline population. Once, I got out of my car and saw two cats climbing in there and they looked at me like "you mind?"
As far as static goes, the cube walls of my office are loaded with it. I've toyed with the idea of making a jumpsuit out of Bounce dryer sheets and wearing it to work.
*two of my former apartments, actually. the one mentioned above was in a two-family house, the other was in a large complex with exponentially more cats, this making it the feline equivalent of the Playboy Mansion.
I knew a cat once that loved having her coat vacuumed with the hose from a canister vacuum. She especially loved having her whole tail inserted into the hose while the vac was on. She was also transgendered: her owners had given her a female name, found out she was male, but kept on calling her by the female name. She didn't care.
I think the poster's wording was intentional. I laughed at it.
matildaben: my grandmother had a kitten she took in to get spayed. Turned out she was a he. Her name was Dilly and we all called her "she" all her life. She was more femme than most females - definitely transgendered.
My big cat, who sleeps right next to me, gets really static-y in the winter. In fact, if I rub him in the dark, the sparks light up the room. I think this is really cool. Him, not so much.
She dances through the street
like the flame of a fire
everybody's hypnotized
everybody perspires
even little children cry
grown men shout
the dogs bark
the lights go out
