yeah, that's gonna really discourage piracy. if i can't do what i want with the music i buy, why buy it to begin with?

they're really insane. i've heard that they're trying to get computer makers to change their drives or something so you can't copy music to the hard drives?

did they have the same problem when one made "backup copies" of vinyl records onto tape so that they'd be able play in your walkman?
...yes as I recall, they did. Oh and I remember some mid-eighties hissyfit when record companies realized that one could tape the radio-broadcast top twenty. soon radio-DJ's had to speak into the tailends of ever damn song. argh!
