The Best Song Ever About Canada [More:] (it's about Louisiana, too, but there are a few better songs about Loosiana.
I'm sorry, but I feel I should warn the rest of you that it's NOT the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen anthem.

It ain't Stompin' Tom either.

O Canada? Right?

(joking aside, this is an absolutely beautiful piece of music from one of the great rock and roll bands)

Yep, it's a great song. But I like The Band's version of O Canada even better.

Good choice jon. I could probably come up with some alternatives too, but I can't disagree.

Warning: Family-centric bragging ahead...

This song is about the ethnic-cleansing of Acadia, when the British deported the French settlers who had been there since the 1600's and turned Acadia into Nova Scotia in the mid 1700's. I know about this because my father wrote a history of the French settlers in Acadia as his retirement project a few years ago.

His book "A Land of Discord Always" tells the story of the first European settlers of Acadia, French Peasants who found a remarkably fertile land and an easy life, away from the domination of their lords back home. This easy life helped form the culture we now call "Cajun."

It's a fascinating story. And that is a great song.
