ico, I love Daniel, very talented, and it looks like the producers are setting him up to win, which is very nice, fine, good.
But By God, that Santino is good TV, and from working (ahem) in the ProFESSIONal THEatre for many years, we love Santio because he is simply: What Designers Are Like.
You know they're going to sell out Daniel, though, just like they did Kara Saun. She really looked like the front-runner and had the most sympathetic portrayal until the surprise Jay victory. Although I do think Jay was the appropriate winner.
Let me go on record: Not only is PR the only reality show I can stand, it's almost the only TV show I bother with. I got sucked in during the first season because it was the only reality show I had ever seen where the contestants were actually like people I knew, rather than people who want more than anything to get on TV. I'm not at all interested in fashion, but I'm interested in creativity, and until I watched this show I never knew fashion designers were not necessarily all cruel oppressors of womanhood but could actually be odd, insecure, wild artist types.
I watched it for the first time last week (at a friend's house) and was definitely captured. I do think they'll keep Santino as long as they can just because obnoxious assholes are good TV.
I only started watching PR this year. I thought it was about models. I don't watch much TV either, but I don't mind admitting that I watch a reality show. Or two. . .
I rooted for Jay all last season - Kara Saun was too perfect. That sure isn't a problem this time - no one is anywhere near perfect, either design wise or personality wise. I've come to like Santino more and more and more, and think his ideas are fab. I wouldn't mind at all if he won. He's hysterical and so entertaining. Daniel I just root for because he's hot, and I love that thing he does in the beginning of the show where he hunkers over and snaps while walking towards the camera...I could eat him up.
The two women bore me. Too wishy-washy. Anyway, I really enjoy this show and it's the only thing I watch, besides the Weather Channel and news. And, for the next 2 weeks, Olympics.
I liked Nick best and was really bummed when they cut him. Although I did crack up when Kors told him his jacket looked like something a Golden Girl would wear, belted...with leggings. Those words just dripped with disdain.
* hopeful - in a paroxysm of perambulations to the post office I sent off 18 applications to 18 programs at 18 schools over the past two weeks. So we'll see.
* Lost - what will they find in that bunker they showed on the previews tonight?
* ennui - perhaps the Internet has something good on tonight? I don't really want to watch schmaltzy Olympics coverage.
