Hello there. Good, this. I am currently avoiding writing a ten minute speech about Hamas. Is it not interesting that some topic I am interested in reading about is so bloody dull to write about?
Welcome, btgog... So tell me, how safe or dangerous do you think Israel and Jordan are right now for tourists?

Israel's quite safe for tourists. You are, as usual, more likely to get hit by a car than be involved in a terrorist attack. There's a bit of petty crime in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Might I recommend you cross the Green Line and check out the West Bank, as well? It's pretty awesome, and also very safe for tourists (and very hospitable to them).

I have no idea about Jordan, but overall the Middle East is much safer than lots of places in the Western Hemisphere for tourism. Jordan's got some cool people and stuff in it as well, and is also full of Palestinians.

Good to know, thanks. Good luck with the speech!

Welcome!
I've found the easiest way to write speeches is often to talk to a tape recorder as if I'm explaining something to a friend. Then I listen to what I've said and just organize it a bit.

thanks jrossi4r. I've written the bugger though, yay!

How many minutes does about 2500 words add up to?

I googled for you, btgog, and the answer, unsurprisingly, was on AskMe.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
