In reading more, I'd like to ammend that to "super icked out":

I came into the world in March 2003, and unlike my brother, as a baby, I slept through the night pretty much straight away, I learned so much from him and was walking and talking way ahead of development schedule but then again I am a girl!

Mummy had a very bad time in which she had 3 failed pregnancies at various stages and could only be comforted by the fact she has 2 beautiful children in myself and Louis.

well, considering what they're going through, I'm disinclined to judge them too harshly, epecially for a mere aesthetic gaffe.

jon, it's less of a judgement for me than a sort dissonance when I read it. It's distracting enough that I have a hard time staying focused on the situation itself.

Squick. I have to admit I'm a cynical bastard, so my first thought was "scam", my second "Munchausen by proxy".

orthogonality: the thought occured to me, too, so you're not that cynical, but who knows, it could be just some unlucky family without much aesthetic sense, and if that's the case, my heart goes out to them.
