I'm going to Europe and I need some recommendations. [More:] I'm going to ask.metafilter tomorrow, but I figured I'd ask you folks first:

I'm going to Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest in March, with one of my roommates. Any recommendations of apartments that we can rent for under a week in any of those places? And is the hydrofoil transport down the Danube worth it? Anyone want to get drunk with me in Central Europe in two months?
Aww nuts.

forget prague and go souff. take the train from budapest to sarajevo and goof around bosnia. my understanding (have not been) is that bratislava is basically a working class suburb of vienna at this point. i'm sure there's interesting stuff there to see, but there's tons of uninteresting housing complexes as well.

We're going to Prague first simply because I know the city pretty well, so we'll be able to adjust to the time zone change in a familiar environment. Also, I still have a bunch of metro tickets that I need to use up.

A working class suburb? Damn. Guess we can just take a day trip there.

City Centre Apartments in Budapest have been quite nice to me.

yeah a lady friend went to bratislava for a weekend when she wsaa working in salzburg. she dug it, but her favorite thing to do when travelling is just walk around. it's kind of nice to see bratislava doing pretty okay, economically. it's not one of the tigers of the eastern european countries, but it seems to be gradually getting it's ish together.
budapest really is fantastic, though. i was there in the summertime and i could live there and i would love it. magyar's a trick, though.

Walking around from pub to pub is how I like to spend my holidays in foreign cities, too. And after looking at how expensive Vienna is, I think we'll take your suggestion and go to Ljubljana and Sarejevo instead.
