Help me identify The Perfect Lamp! I've seen it, but don't know what it's called or where to find it.→[More:]The people at the office next to us to had them, before they moved out (why I didn't ask them, I don't know). They were desk lamps, and they were just round white half-spheres, lit up from the inside. I've tried googling various combinations of globe, desk, lamp, round, light- without finding exactly what I'm looking for. Help me not have to sit in the dark anymore.

Does it look anything like any of these (some of them aren't white, just trying to get the design down)? Or maybe you could draw a picture of it?

It doesn't look like any of those, iconomy (but thanks!)- it's just a round thing sitting on a base.

I don't think you press on the globe to get light; I know what you're thinking of, but this thing is bigger than that.

Like you posted before, it looks just like this but upside down.

Oh so there's really no lamp base to speak of - what you see basically is a white half ball on a table?

Oh crap, I saw a lamp like that about 4 minutes ago but I can't remember where or how I found it! Crappity crap.

This lamp from Ikea is sorta sorta, and affordable.

Here's a photo of it in an environment. I want it too, plus one from the children's page - the one shaped like Saturn that reflects colored stars on the walls. I have to have that!

Now an E26 bulb, is that the normal sort of bulb I can buy at any drugstore? Or is that something weird?

E26 is basically an appliance bulb, like in an oven. Standard Edison base, small globe.

(Thinking aloud) How many other pieces of day-to-day technology make use of the same physical connector that they did a century ago? The "Edison base" goes back that far, but not very many others, I'd wager.
