Appropriate? I think we can do better. I so want to suggest Afternoon Delight, but that would be against the guidelines. Any other good (bad) ideas?

Summer Wine

Hell, anything that was at one time sung by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood.

Oh, a classic: "Summer Lovin'" Just what a brother/sister duet needs to be singing!

Midnight at the Oasis (which after the audition scene in Waiting for Guffman will always be a duet in my mind)

“Time After Time” was performed as a duet by Cyndi Lauper and Sarah McLachlan. I'd like to see 'em give that a whirl given the different vocal ranges.

Bass and soprano? How about something from Nick Cave's Murder Ballads?

Muskrat Love. (Dunno if I've heard it as a proper duet, but who doesn't love some muskrat?)

DEAD IN THE HEAD As performed by Lydia Lunch and Rowland S. Howard? A sample of the lyrics:

BLOOD AND GUTS IN THE MOVIE HOUSE, SLAUGHTERHOUSE, SLAUGHTERHOUSE
HE RIPS THROUGH ALL THE MOVIE BUFFS... HE RIPS THEM UP, HE RIPS THEM UP...
HE GOES WHERE DON'T WANNA GO & WHAT HE DOES, HE DOESN'T KNOW....
HE'S THE SADDEST CREATURE KNOWN TO MAN...
AN UNKNOWN SAM IN AN UNKIND LAND...
HE'S OUT OF HIS HEAD AND IT'S OUT OF HIS HANDS...
HE'S DEAD IN THE HEAD....

"Sugar Cookies" by Ann Hampton Callaway and Everett Bradley would be very sweet for a brother and sister to perform. Not at all creepy. It's about baking, silly. Some lyrics:

The dough is chillin’
Gonna let it get nice and hard
Then we’ll roll it
And cut the cookies
So baby, en guard!
Press it in, press it out
Keep doin’ it
Lay my cookies out on your sheet
Put it in three hundred fifty degrees
Baby, can you feel the heat, oh!

I actually have mysterious go-back-in-time-and-post-powers. But I only use them for good... and for stuff like this.
