Sad, Freaky News. I was a fan of the Father's band House Of Freaks back in the mid 80's. Stumbled on this news by chance. Damn shame.

The first entry at this blog has some music from House Of Freaks. I never saw them live or anything. I just owned the cassette, but they were really good.

Holy crap! Man, you've gotta be really angry or crazy or just plain mean to slit a 4 year old's throat. That's just so wrong it makes my brain hurt.

How terribly, terribly sad for the whole family and their family and friends.

Brian was a college friend of my sister -- and the Harveys were her neighbors in Richmond.

The neighborhood scuttlebutt/rumor: Kathryn Harvey has a sister who is dating a drug dealer/"sketchy dude" who the Harveys had been encouraging her to leave. My sister said that a profiler believes that the perpetrator is someone whom the family knew.

My sister and friends are at a family memorial at the Unitarian Church tonight and will be attending another at the Harvey home tomorrow.

Well, isn't that special. Now the entertainment news poop chute has a reason to cover this case in exhaustive detail.

It's awful to think about, and everyone here is talking about it. One degree of separation for me. . .a good friend babysat for people going to a vigil last night. I gave and received gifts purchased at the wife's wonderful store, and used to vote at the older child's elementary school. We have been all about the bad news going national out of Richmond lately. As bizarre as it sounds, providing they find the perp, it's a comfort to me that none survived. I can't imagine living after witnessing that.
