No animal of any kind should have to wear any clothes not made by one of it’s own kind.

My daughter has been begging for a pet skunk for like 2 years now. She wants a purple one. I am against this plan.

purple? Does that mean you'd have to dye it with manic panic every 6 weeks?

No, apparently they come in purple - okay, sort of a brownish lavender that only looks purple in the right light if you sort of squint. There are pictures on that skunks.org page.

Ah. I have never seen one of those. Our wild skunks are the plain old striped kind. They are really really cute.

In the "are they legal" list, Wyoming has the following note:

Wyoming- legal ... classified as predatory animals and as such you may keep it for a pet and no license is required.

what the hell?

Damn, who knew skunks could be so cute?

The scent thing tho' - the first link equates them to ferrets, meaning they get de-stinked. But ferrets still smell even if descented. I wonder how pet skunks really smell. Does anyone know?
