SF Weather Living in Calgary I can usually tell whether an immigrant comes from BC or the Prairies. BC refugees think the weather sucks and people from SK/MB/Northern AB think the weather is great. I wonder how many of the people insisting the weather in SF isn't very good are from other places in California and how many are from say North Dakota.
When I lived in the Bay Area, I could always tell the summertime tourists by the blue kneecaps poking out from theit shorts and the wind-burned, shocked expressions on their faces. It was always good for a laugh.

Here's a hint: Wherever tourists congregate, count the number of SF t-shirts you see versus the number of SF sweatshirts & windbreakers. People come to sunny California and go home with a cozy reminder of just how bloody chilly it was.

I commute across the Golden Gate bridge, and it's almost comical, the look of grim determination on folk's faces as they march across the bridge, wearing shorts & a new sweatshirt in a 40 mph fogbank that hasn't warmed up much since it left the Aleutians.

I guess your theory stands. I commented in that thread to say SF weather sucks.

I grew up in San Diego.

But also, what they said.
