But neither of them contain the line, "you're an old slut on junk."

I love that song, jrossi4r, but it isn't really a Christmas song, and you gotta admit, Darlene Love is singing her ass off.

Yeah. Neither is 2000 Miles by the Pretenders really, but they both seem to get played only this time of year because they say the word "Christmas."

And yes, Ms. Love wails. Much better than the tepid remake done by U2. (At least I think it was U2. Somebody butchered it.)

u2's remake is OK ( I cut them a lot of slack because their hearts are in the right place, and occasionally they'll still amaze me musically), but Darlene's song and the Ramones song were intended as pure seasonal treats and they work well in that context.

Sat. Night Live had Darlene Love singing Christmas for the Jews to a Robert Smigel animated thing last night.

The third best rock christmas song ever: The Ventures - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Bah - If we're talking purely about xmas singles, then Slade have the Rockingest of the Rocking christmas singles.

I played that Ramones song when I did my Christmas set on Mecha Radio. I think it was mislabeled though.
